Wow, he sure got around. His name appears numerous times on the passenger records coming into New York and California from all over the Caribbean, Europe and the Far East.However, he did become a naturalized citizen according to several records, and one indicates that he was naturalized in the District Court of Brooklyn NY on 27 July 1944 #5969017.Getting a copy of this naturalization record may provide you with valuable information.
In a 1929 passenger record arriving in Seattle, he gives his birthplace as Bochum, Germany, with his last residence given as Trier. Gives his mother, Maria General of 2 New Street, Trier as next of kin. Final destination given as Long Beach, California to join his sister, Mrs. D.D. Brodie, 856 West 21st Street, Long Beach, California. Dated 8 April 1929.

Mila arrived on the SS Dinteldijk from Rotterdam into California on February 26, 1923, last of Trier, gives her mother, Mrs. M. General, 2 Neustrasse, Trier, as next of kin, bound for her future husband: Mr. D.D. Brodie, 366 Grange Avenue, Long Beach, California; gives her birthplace as Bochum, Germany.
According to the California Death Index, Mila died 6 October 1965 in Los Angeles, born 18 November 1910 in Germany; mother's maiden name is given as Kufs.
As late as 1950, Mila is noted in the telephone directory in San Marino, California, as wife of D.D. Brodie, who is working for the Codie-Kay Co. Inc., living at 670 San Marino Avenue.
Damon remarried on 8 October 1966 to Dorothy L. Knox (Allen) in Los Angeles.Damon Douglas Brodie died 28 February 1982 in Orange County. Born 1 August 1901 in Massachusetts. Mother's maiden name was Thompson.
