Scott, first, you have to be aware that just like the U.S., Germany, too, has always been made up of STATES. We're talking here about the southern German state of BAVARIA (in German: Bayern), the capital of which is the city of MUNICH. Bavaria covers an area about half that covered by the U.S. state of New York.
You have misspelled the name of the town where the Siegel family was from. The correct spelling is RÖDELMAIER, or if written without the "Umlaut" (two dots) over the "O", ROEDELMAIER.
Rödelmaier (Roedelmaier) is located in the region of northwestern Bavaria known as LOWER FRANCONIA (in German: Unterfranken), the administrative seat of which is the city of WÜRZBURG, or if written without the "Umlaut" (two dots) over the "U", WUERZBURG. Rödelmaier (Roedelmaier) is today a town of about 935 people. The nearest city of any size is the spa BAD NEUSTADT, or in full, BAD NEUSTADT AN DER SAALE (Bad Neustadt on the Saale River).
