Hi Eileen,
RE;ROBERT SCHULER 1858-1928, BORN IN BERLIN
Thank you for responding so quickly.Sorry, I should have
included information about my Grandmother.
Several years ago I made a trip to St. Louis,MO and
checked their marriage records.I did locate one for
Robert Schuler and Lena Rapp, her name Was Magdalena and she
was called "Lena", they were married in St. Louis in 1890,
both lived in the Broadway, Seventh Street area.It showed her age as 24 and his as 30, she was 24 and he should have been 32.I did make a copy of that marriage
license and certificate, they wee married by a JP.
Magdalena Rapp was born in Stringtown, MO, her father was
from Bavaria and her mother from Hanover/Prussia.
I have a copy of my Grandmother's Baptismal Certificate,
it indicates her fathers birthplace. It has her mother's
maiden nameChristiana Albrecht and the line under it has "Batroda, Aut/Ant/Amt, Gottingen, Hanover"
I have not been able to find out
what it means, the entire certificate is in German.Lena
was born in Stringtown, Mo, May 14, 1866.It has her
full name as Anna Magdalena, the name of the sponsor
and the pastors name. This certificate was from St. PAULS
Churc h in Stringtown.
In 1992 I visited Jefferson City, MO to do some research.
I phoned the church and spoke with a secretary, who
checked the church records but was unable to locate any
further information for me. My Grandmother did have a
younger sister also baptized at this church. My Grandmother
had two older brother's but they were both born in OHIO.
Robert and Lena had four children who lived to adulthood.
They had at least three or four who died young. My father's
name was Harry.
I am also doing research on the RAPP and Albrecht families,
but have not posted the message yet.
Thank you.
