Greetings! I am so sorry. I am thankful for your patience. I am brand new to this, and obviously have a lot to learn! Some of my info isn't from his actual records, ie: I didn't find his arrival, but on census or other records, picked up dates. Also, Frederick Jr. stated his father was from Alsace Lorraine on a passport application.
Before I learned all the features such as "shoebox," I thought I was being "smart" cautiously writing notes on paper before I entered it onto my "tree" at Ancestry, and I am paying for that now.
I have an amazing article now from the New York Times 1901 about how a church deacon tried to murder the entire family! Is there a proper place to post antedotal info such as that?
I noticed that "Voegelin" seems a much more common Swiss name? Well, will try to retrace my steps, and find the proper records to pursue this.
Thank you so much, Robert!
Regards, Kathe
