Richard, just a couple of things:
First, a language matter:"Hessen" is simply German for "Hesse", just like "Deutschland" is German for "Germany".So you're actually referring to the German state of Hesse.(Like the U.S., Germany has always been made up of states.)
Second, you've misspelt the name of the town.Needless to say, it's of the utmost importance that you have the correct spelling of the town, or you won't get very far in your research. The correct spelling of the town is Gräfenhausen, or if written without the "Umlaut" (two dots) over the first "a", Graefenhausen.Your mistake is that you have one "s" too many in the town's name. There is only one "s", not two.
I should also mention here that Gräfenhausen (Graefenhausen) is no longer an independent town.Gräfenhausen (Graefenhausen) was one of four towns annexed by the nearby city of Weiterstadt back in 1977.So today, Gräfenhausen (Graefenhausen) is a section of Weiterstadt.
Weiterstadt is a city of about 24,000 people today, of whom about about 5600 live in Gräfenhausen (Graefenhausen).Weiterstadt is located only about 3¾ miles or 6 km northwest of the city of Darmstadt.
You are very vague in your query, Richard, and I don't think anybody here will be able to assist you until you get more specific. You say simply that you're looking "for info" on these people.Well, as I said, that's very, very vague. What is it exactly that you want to know about these people?
Robert
