Robert, The LDS record shows my gg/gf Patizius was christened
08 Feb 1811 Katholisch, Hohenstadt Aalen, Jagstkreis, Wuerttmberg, and born 07 Feb 1811, Parents listed as Antonius Elser & Francisica Haenle.
No further info till he left Germany in 1869 from Hambur & Havre on ship Westphalia to New York and arrived August 11th, 1869 with 12 family members, stopped in Philadelpia, then to Chicago, where I found him listed as a Surgeon on the 1870 City Directory. After that nothing till he died in 1883. I have his Probate Papers which gave me my start on the family history as well as my G/gf's Rudolphs propate papers which my Aunt had in her basement. I looked 10 years for my gg/gm maiden name and finally found it on the hand written draft of the Probate papers along with other info that was not on the typed copies my Aunt had.
I went to the Federal Bldg in Chicago to look and make copies of the Original Draft. He does not show up on the 1870 or 1880 census.

Oh Robert I looked at the Ellis Island manifest for Adam and it said he was born in Russia, town of Bialo?z??
Can you make out the spelling and where was it .
