Rudolph, the state of Prussia introduced the civil registration of births, deaths and marriages in 1874. Prior to 1874, all that would be available would be church records. Pre-1874 church records are freely accessible, but due to Germany's strict privacy laws, churches are not permitted to release information from church records more recent than 1874, the year civil registration was introduced. So you wouldn't be able to get a copy of Adam Funk's baptismal record either. There are some other possibilities: You mention Adam Funk's 1914 passenger arrival record. I took a look at it and saw that he indicates as his nearest relative in country of origin his father, Willy Funk. So that at least gives you his father's first name. It seems that Adam and his wife Emma were married in 1915 in Cook County, Illinois. You could request a copy of their marriage record from the Cook County Clerk's Office. That would give the names of both of his parents. (Adam and Emma moved to Hammond, Lake Co., Indiana, just a few years after they were married, and that's where they then remained.) If Adam became a U.S. citizen, his naturalization records would include the names of both of his parents. Adam's Form SS-5, his Application for a Social Security Card, would also include the names of both of his parents. Terry Funk is of course a very famous wrestler. He's now 63 years old, and as far as I know, he still lives on his ranch in Canyon, Texas, near Amarillo. Dory Funk Jr. is now 65 years old and lives in Ocala, Florida, where he runs a professional wrestling school called the Funking Conservatory. Robert Notify Administrator about this message?
