First, Ahlbach is nowhere near Germersheim.Germersheim is about 250 miles away, near Munich in Bavaria!Ahlbach is no longer an independent town.In 1972, it was annexed by the city of LIMBURG-AN-DER-LAHN.
However, according to your earlier posting, it's not Ahlbach you're interested in, but rather Ahlersbach, about 80 miles to the east.A little while ago, I responded to that posting, telling you where Ahlersbach is.
By the way, Electorate of Hesse is in German KURHESSEN.From 1803 to 1866, it was ruled by an ELECTOR (in German: KÜRFÜRST).In 1866, the Kingdom of PRUSSIA (in German: PREUSSEN) annexed the Electorate of Hesse (Kurhessen), the Duchy of Nassau, and the city of Frankfurt and combined these areas into what until 1945 was the Prussian province of HESSEN-NASSAU.Following World War II, Hessen-Nassau combined with the state of HESSEN-DARMSTADT (until 1918, a Grand Duchy), minus its Rheinhessen region with the city of Mainz, which became part of the new state of Rhineland-Palatinate (Rheinland-Pfalz), to form the new state of HESSEN.
The Electorate of Hesse, or Kurhessen, was often referred to as HESSEN-KASSEL, after its capital city.
