Sally, I really don't think so. My George Heinrich MAYER II, was born in 1804 in Zeilhard, Hessen and migrated to the US in 1850. He was a farmer. As far as his father before him, George Heinrich MAYER I, I have no idea what he did. He would have been born around 1772 in Hessen.Do you have any dates on yours or what district he was from. Mine were from the Georgenhausen District (now Reinheim). Zeilhard is between Darmstadt and Reinheim. The son of George II was also named George Heinrich MAYER III but he was born in 1852 in Dodge County, Wisconsin. When did yours come to the US?Mine were Lutheran if that helps any. Our Mayer surname has been spelled the same way as far back as 1695. If you have any more questions you can email me at [email protected].
