Knoff in Kingdom of Hannover

First, let me say I am not 100% sure the spelling of Knoff is the same as the original. I have scant information on whether the name was altered at some point. For the moment, I *guess* I will stick with the spelling I know... KNOFF.

I have a relative, Frederick C Knoff, born in 1820 in Hannover Germany. He married Mary Ann Spears b. 1824 in Hannover at some point either in Germany or in Canada.

So, he is born to someone in KoH, grows up (religion unknown, village...hell everything unknown), leaves through some port and arrives somewhere in Canada circa 1845. Either he is married or marries Mary and they have at least 3 children in Montreal Canada. Once again... zero records other than census and family notes.

Boom, they move to Kansas City in 1855 then to Shawnee and stay there until they die.

I have both their wills. I have both deeds to land they owned. I have an obit for Frederick and that is about it.

So my quest is twofold: discover his 10 years in Canada and find out where my family is from in Germany.

Any help would be appreciated. I will answer whatever I can otherwise if I have the information.
