Hi,
Thanks to a man on one of the other German sites I believe I know my great grandmother's nmae, or the spelling of it now as she always went by Minnie or Miney Moore after her marriage to Alphonso Moore my great grandfather, and the three records, or papers with any information on her at all before had three different spellings for her Maiden name as well as having her first name spelled wrong. One of those papers even had it spelled Bettmeyer, one Ritmar and one some other combination. Now that I have this much to go on I need to see if anyone has any suggestions as to how I can narrow down an area she might be from like where in Hanover she came from or a little smaller area tto search then all of Hanover?

Her name is Wilhemine Regetta Rittmeyer born Jun 1854 according to a census and her son's death certificate in Hanover section of Germany, or, Prussia Germany not sure which but I was told if it is Hanover I need to narrow it down some and that they only have local records no state or federal type records. I looked for ships passengers listed from this area with this name, but only found 13 Rittmeyer's and none listing that area. I don't know her parents names, or anything, and cannot find much in the way of records from that area of Germany actually none so far. Is there anyone who knows of some records I could check to see if I could narrow down her place of birth and maybe find her parents names? I can get back so far in the other lines but this lady and one other lady I can't find information on.

Thanks in advance for any help at all on this I am stuck with a brick wall or two, but at least now I can spell this brick wall's name :) I sure would like to know something about my great grandmother some day if possible.
Thanks again for any suggestions of where to look, or what to try next.
