Seitzes from Adelshofen and DNA
Are you a male Seitz who can trace your ancestors to the village of Adelshofen, Baden, Germany (now part of Eppingen)? We need your help in confirming that the Johannes Seitz who died in York County, Penn., in 1793 is the same Johannes Seitz who arrived on the ship the Richmond on 20 Oct. 1764. The Johannes who arrived on the Richmond is almost certainly from Adelshofen. Your help would consist of participating in the Sides/Seitz/Sites/Sitz/Sights/Scites/Seiz DNA Reconstruction Project being coordinated byby Deb Harper.
We have DNA results from a few descendants of Johannes and would welcome any others willing to take part. The more participants we have, the more certain we can be of our results.
But what we really need are Seitzes from Adelshofen whose ancestors do not include Johannes. Whether you are from a Seitz line that stayed in Germany (even it left Adelshofen) or from another Seitz line that left Germany for a new country (i.e. USA, Canada, Australia, Russia) that can be traced back to Adelshofen, we invite you to participate.
