Paul,
I don't know why the state of Oregon can't find Lucy's death information, but no, she didn't remarry. She died 3 Mar 1946 and is buried in Athena Cemetery, Umatilla Co., OR, next to her husband Jonathan Napoleon Bonaparte Gerking, who is my ggranduncle. Coincidentally, buried next to them is a ggranduncle from another line, John Lewis Smith.
Lucy and JNB had 10 children, two of whom died young and are buried at Blue Mountain (formerly Kees) cemetery in the hills betweem the small towns of Athena and Weston, OR.
