Here is what I have
Johann Oeltjenbruns (my 2 Great Grandfather) married a girl by the name of Margaret Gherkin. She was ten or eleven years old when her father and step mother brought their family to America from Hannover, Germany. She had two brothers and two sisters, one of the sisters stayed in Germany, the other sister married a man in New Orleans and never came up to St. Louis.John Henry Gherkin, Margaret's brother, married and moved toShobernier, Illinois. The other brother, Herman, married a girl from near High Ridge by the name of Anna Miller, they lived on the old homestead in Dittmer for a long time, but finally he also bought land near Shobernier and moved all of his family closer to his brother in Illinois.
Is there any of this family left?
