For Maretta Nearing. Here is some more information on Nelson Francis Gerken. He was born on 08 December 1886 in Florence, Morgan County, Missouri. He was the first of ten children born to Henry Edward Gerken and Ruhema Catherine Nelson. He married first to Ann Henrietta Wild on 28 July 1907 (not 1902) in Sedalia, Pettis County, Missouri. My records show that Anna's middle name was spelled with an "a" on the end rather than a "e". They had two children - - Clayton D'Armond Gerken (1909-1988) amd Elfyn Lerma Gerken (1911-1993). They divorced on 07 January 1932. At some point Anna lost her sight. Nelson might have felt some obligation to her as she continued to live with him until her death on 16 June 1953. Nelson died on 02 February in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. I hope this information will be of some help to you in your research. Wendell E. Gerken.
