For those of us who received copies of the extensive research done by Roy Geren in 1975 on the descendants of John and Easter Geren (sorry-I don't have her maiden name either), there was a section at the back about other Gerens in the 1850 Ohio Census. (Spellings varied from Guerrin, Gerrin, Gearin, Geran, Geren, Gearing, etc.) In this section Roy listed the info from the 1850 Census that each polled person was to provide. One question was in regard to where they were born. There was no consensus - some were from France, some from Germany, and some from other parts of the US. Which means we still don't know the answer to the question - just where did the Gerens (Guerin, Geran, etc.) originate???

P.S. Sure is nice to see some of the names in Roy's book appear on this list.
