I am seeking stronger evidence on the identity of his wife Elizabeth. The various visitations give her the surname Byrom but I cannot find contemporary evidence to confirm this. She was living in 1504/5 when she arranged the marriage of her daughter Jane (Joan) with Arthur de Ince.
I descend from William and Elizabeth's son Thomas Gerard (d. 1544), Esq., of Ince (in Makerfield) and his wife Maud Bold, through their daughter Jennet Gerard, wife of Richard Eltonhead (1502-1558) of Eltonhead (in Sutton), Lancashire.
