I am so pleased to see your posting.I had never come across anyone else researching George and Helen and their descendants.I am descended from their son Samuel Robert (1848-1909), my gggrandfather. He apparently lied about his age to join the Confederate army. After the war he married Satina Edith [last name uncertain, but may be Hennessy] (1853-1881).I don't know when or where they married, but they moved to Brenham, Washington Co., Tex. before their first child was b. in 1870.They had seven more children there and in adjacent Burleson Co.She d. shortly after delivering twin boys. The following year, he remarried to Leila (Lillie) Holmes (1859-1899) in Burleson Co.They had moved to McGregor, McLennan Co., Tex. by spring of 1883.They had four children before her death.Robert (as he was known) married again in Jan. 1900 to Alexandra (Daisy) Talley, a clerk or bookkeeper in the store in which he worked (he was a merchant), and they had his last child, Frank, at the end of that year.A few years after their marriage, Robert developed what Frank's descendants believe was Alzheimer's disease. In time, Daisy could no longer care for him, and he was put in the state hospital in Austin, where he died. She left McGregor in 1911 with Frank. His children apparently opposed their marriage, and his sons scattered to the western U.S. as soon as they were of age, operating restaurants in mining boom areas.I was looking for a way to find the burial place of the sons (the only one I haven't found) when I stumbled across your post. Please get in touch.I would be delighted to share information with you.
