Cyndye, At last I can figure where your line is. First,
the letter from Eugene Gerald is filled with errors.
James Gerald was born in Little PeeGee S.C.
He had a son named Gabriel,d1789Clarenden S,C,married
Elizabeth White.
Children were,William,Benjamin,Gabriel Jr,Elizabeth R.,
Richard L.,Mildred,James,Jessie,Samuel ,Charles,George,
Robert,John C.
Thomas Sumpter (The First Thomas Sumpter) was the son
of William Gerald and Elizabeth Richbourgh.
Thomas Sumpter Gerald had three Sons by wife Elizabeth Haynes (This is my family line)William and George were Killed in Civil war,Robert Sumpter married Laura J. Hough(not Huff) and died in Belle Plains Texas ,Emily married
John Suddath(I have not been able to locate them.
Thomas Sumpter married the second time Elizabeth Shaw
and their children were Thomas Sumpter and James Elmer.
Thomas Sumpter married Nancy J.Terrell for his third wife.They had the following children,Daniel T.,Earnest Wesley,John Richbourgh,Jefferson Davis,Infant son,Charles,J.,Infant son,Mary Elizabeth,Albert Sidney,and Elisha Duncan.

I have quite a bit on all of the lines, and also James
Geralds(Fitzgerald) going back to 742 A.D.
