Harper Family Habersham County Georgia
Posted by: Herb Holman (ID *****4419) Date: November 30, 2010 at 20:56:12

Am researching the Harper Family of Habersham County, Georgia during the period between 1860-1900. Any information concerning federal census, marriages, Civil War Military Service, pension applications, etc. will be helpful.

Currently the only clue that I have concerning this family is that Fannie (Frances?) Harper married my 3x Great Grandfather, G. C. Vandiver, on October 25, 1884 in Habersham County. Their marriage license was purchased one day prior to their marriage and a Justice of the Peace performed the ceremony.

According to family lore, Fannie died within a few months after their marriage from Tetnus (Lockjaw) from a injury
received while working around the family farm.

It would be very helpful to locate her burial location which I assume was in Habersham County, but I have discovered no proof of her burial site from records.

If your preference is to contact me directly my email is eggs1234@att.net

I will be appreciatively of any assistance.
