Joshua, Elizabeth, BROUGHTON

On Ancestry.com I found for Georgia Cherokee Land Lottery, Joshua BROUGHTON in Henry Co.
Is this land allotted to his Native American rights, or is he Native American ? Or ? can anyone explain to me about the Land Lottery, Georgia Cherokee Land Lottery, 1832 .

I descend from a Joshua BROUGHTON, dau Louisa Ellender BROUGHTON she married John Marcus Clarke SMITH III and through their child Elizabeth SMITH who married John Daniel McDOUGAL.

Also there is a Joshua BROUGHTON 1850 census age 68 born Deleware and I am gathering his wife Elizabeth age 66 in Itawamba, Mississippi.
I'm trying to decide if this is my Joshua BROUGHTON as I do not have his wife as yet...
Thank you for your help, Nelda
