I wonder if our Jesse Jackson could be the one in your post. Our Jesse was b. 1785-1787, and lived in Wilkinson Co, GA where he m. Maryann Brady in 1814. He enlisted for War of 1812 in Milledgeville, and fought in Indian Wars. He's on the 1820 census for Wilkinson Co, then in Upson Co for 1830, 1840, & 1850 censuses. History of Upson Co shows him as a road commissioner living in Dist 470. Living on the same parcel of land is a Robt Jackson, Sr. a probable close relative. He's a clerk, then deacon of Bethlehem Church. Jesse died in 1855 after moving to Rose Hill, Covington Co, AL. Jesse is our earliest known ancestor, and sure would fit neatly into your family group. What do you think?
