I am looking for any information on Ezekiel Clifton or his wife that settled in Jones County Georgia. Ezekiel Married Phoebe Steele Feb 4, 1830. Ezekiel Clifton was living very close to a Daniel Clifton which possibly could mean that they may have been related. The 1860 United States Federal Census Records gives Ezekiels place of birth as North Carolina in the year of 1802. Phoebe Steele(Phebe), wife of Ezekiel is listed as being born in New York in the year of 1798. There was also a John N. Steele living near buy and could of been Phoebe's brother. Ezekiel and Phoebe had a child Hawkins Clifton in 1834 while living in Jones county, Georgia. They latter moved to Conecuh County, Alabama and had two other boys.
