Will or William King & Dora Bloxter King Whatley
Will/Willam King was my great grand father and great grand mother have been major brick walls. I have sketchy information about them and locating anything about them has been impossible.
I located my great grand fathers grave stone he is buried at Plainville Cemetery at Bethsda Baptist Church in Gordon County, Georgia. His stone was small and simple, WIll King died Aug 24,1931 in Floyd County, Rome Georgia. I have no date or place of birth or if he had siblings. He was a brakeman for Southern Railroad for about 30 years.
He was married to Dora Bloxer, I have not found a marriage certificate, I do know that lived at 1013 Maple Street in Rome, Floyd County. Will and Dora had four children Porter (born in 1898 - died June 10, 1939), Robbie(no information), Teresa(no information) and Ollie(my grandfather, I believe he was born in 1907 - died December 28, 1930 he was married to Mary Elizabeth Selman).
After Will died, Dora remarried new second husbands name was Henry Whatley she lived at 37 Gibbon Street in Rome.
I was told that there are possible King descendants living in Chicago and they might more information about Will and Dora and their children. If any members of the King/Bloxter/Whatley family should happen to read my message, please feel free to contact me I would enjoy hearing fromyou and sharing the little information I have and hope you might shed some insight about our family.
Sincerely,
Virginia King Hugill
