My grandfather Ike Meltzer according to his death certificate was born in Poland on August 6, 1889, but according to the census he stated his parents were from Russia. Ike came to the states (Georgia) when he was six years old. I am trying to find out some information about his parents, but on his tombstone it states his fathers name is Achaharon (Aaron) and on his death certificate it states L. Meltzer, and mother unknown. My dad always told me he thought he had family in NY in the jewelry business, but that is all he ever heard. Ike died December 4, 1940 in Atlanta, GA.
Since I struck out on the death certificate and tombstone, does anyone have any suggestions what I can do? Any help would be appreciated. Brenda Washington
