Ansel George P.A. in 1793

January 8, 1793, Certificate of Power of Atty,
Library of Virginia Archives:
Henry Dykes gave Ansel George full Power of Atty to receive
all the (?land/monies/)that are due to him for his services
in the Army for the three years or during the war.
(Revolutionary War)
Signed: Henry Dykes
Witnesses: ......Christian, Robert(X)Shaw

It appears from the location of Robert Shaw that Henry Dykes
was in North Carolina or Tennessee in 1793 and Ansel George was in Virginia.
Ansel George was probably born between 1730-1750.

Robert Shaw was born in 1754 in Bedford or Halifax Co., Va.
then his parents moved their family to Orange Co., N.C.
Robert purchased land in Guilford Co., N.C. where he met and
married, Elizabeth Hamilton, in 1779. He was a soldier in
the N.C. Militia during the Rev. War and moved to his NC (Tenn) Military Land
Grant where he died in Sumner Co., Tenn. in 1830.

The location of one or all of these men would be greatly
appreciated.
Evelyn
