John George of N. C. and Alabama

My 3rd great-grandfather was John George who was originally from North Carolina and migrated to Choctaw Co, Ala. Many trees that I have seen connect him to Rueben George (1734) of Essex Co, VA. While I would like to belong to that family, I have decided to disconnect that relationship. Rueben George did indeed have a son named John, but the dates and locations do not match. Does anyone know of a North Carolina, perhaps Anson, N. C., connection to my John George? I will appreciate any information you may have.

Edwina
