After two years of research, I have more on the family listed in the above message.
Henry GEORGE was the son of Wendell GEORGE and Blanche HORTON (Not Anton as stated above). Henry was born 17 Jan 1898 in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey. His parents, Wendell and Blanche, were born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where they lived before moving to New Jersey about 1897. They may also have lived in Bucks County, Pennsylvania before their move to NJ.
Wendell GEORGE, born Nov 1859, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was the son of Israel/Lewis GEORGE and Elizabeth HORTON. Blanche C. HORTON, born 11 Sept 1871, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was the daughter of Daniel HORTON and Lucy CRISSY. Wendell and Blanche were first cousins and were married in July 1888 in Camden, Camden County, New Jersey. This was Wendell's second marriage.
Wendell and Blanche are the parents of these known children:
Dora M. GEORGE, born 31 Mar 1890, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
She must have died young because she isn't listed as living on either Henry's birth certificate or 1900 census.
Elmer GEORGE, born 13 Nov 1892, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
His is listed on 1900 census, Newark, Essex County, New Jersey.
Charles GEORGE, born Jan 1896, Pennsylvania
Listed on 1900 census, Newark, Essex County, New Jersey.
Henry GEORGE, born 17 Jan 1898, Newark, Essex County, New Jersey, died 7 May 1934, Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Nellie GEORGE, born about 1904 in New Jersey, died on Mississippi Gulf Coast. Lived in Mississippi City, Mississippi in 1930 (census) with husband named MABRY.
Blanche GEORGE, born 2 Sept. 1907, Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida
Blanche C. HORTON had two brothers and one sister: John B. HORTON, Frank William HORTON, and Mary Elizabeth HORTON, who married MYERS, and lived her adult life in Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida, where she died in 1961. Their mother, Lucy CRISSY, died in Pensacola, Florida in 1926. Their father, Daniel HORTON, died in 1900, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Do you have a connection to these people? I'd love to hear from you.
