Catherine Lawson and Benjamin George, Jr.

Hello All,

I hope that I can find help on this forum with the identity of the family of Catherine Lawson who married Benjamin George, Jr. in Northumberland County, VA area, possibly Lancaster County where Catherine died ca 1793; her will was probated there in 1794.

Benjamin's mother was my 6G grandmother, who married Benjamin George, Sr. as her second husband, after my 6G grandfather, Henry Tapscott died. It is pretty evident that Ann Tapscott George was Ann Edney before she was married. The Edney name is used as a given name in the Tapscott family, and also appears in the family of Benjamin and Catherine in the naming of their daughter, Ann Edney George.

**** DEED BOOK 19 PAAGE 74 LANCASTER COUNTY VA ----14 NOV 1772

I DO HEREBY BY THESE PRESENTS DELIVER UNTO EDNEY TAPSCOTT OF THE COUNTY OF LANCASTER ,HIS HEIRS, ADMINISTRATORS,EXECUTORS AND ASSIGNEES THE LAND SITUATE IN THE COUNTY OF LANCASTER DUE HIM BY REVISION BY DEED OF GIFT RECORDED IN NORTHUMBERLAND SIGNED BY ANN GEORGE
RECORDED 18 MARCH 1773 BY T B GRIFFEN CLERK LANCASTER COUNTY VA

**THE LAND IS THAT WHICH BELONGED TO HER DECEASED HUSBAND HENRY TAPSCOTT AND THE DEED OF GIFT IS RECORDED IN NORTHUMBERLAND RECORD BOOK 1726-29 PG 4 AND 4A AND DATED 15 SEP 1725..

I will welcome ANY data which may apply to this family.

Best regards,

John Fox
