NB. We are told that John Petherick is the eldest son and heir of John Petherick (deceased) of Ragland, Surgeon and of Sophia his wife, formerly Sophia George (also deceased).
John Petherick is mortgaging property in Ragland to Thomas Petherick for £50. The property is bounded on the West by a road leading from Ragland to the turnpike to Abergavenny, and on the South by a Public House called the Cross Keys.
It is make clear that the plot came into the hands of John Pertherick from his mother Sophia George, having previously been occupied by Mrs Susan George, widow, and before that by Mrs Susannah George, widow.
