The AL Death Index has the following info:
Alabama Deaths, 1908-59
NameDeath .. DateDeath .. County
George Ed .. Jul 1934 .. Tuscaloosa

If you live in AL you can go to the Health Dept. and order a copy of the death certificate, which SHOULD list the names of parents as well as place of birth.
