Delilah Jane George was my great grandmother. In the listing on RootsWeb she is said to have married Bennet F. or Bernet F. Smith. According to our family her husband's name was Benjamin Franklin Smith from Charleston Dist. S. Car. He fought with Gen. Lee in Civil War.

According to my grandfather (Luther GASKINS Smith) Delilah and Benjamin married in East Texas in 1867 or 68 or 69. They had 3 sons:
Luther GASKINS Smith: b.20 Aug. 1870 Jasper, TX
married: Eva May Larkin 19 Aug 1896 in
Benton, La
died: Dec. 23, 1961 in Shreveport,LA
buried: Cottage Grove Cem.
Bossier Parish La

Gordon BENNET Smith: b. 1875 near Irene, Hill County,
buried Cottage Grove Cem. LA
GEORGE Clifford Smith: b. abt. 1880 near Irene, Hill County TX. may be buried in Shreveport, La.

All these sons had children, I have most of the info, but my computer doesn't seem to want me to enter it. I have capitalized the "family" names.

Please email me if you are interested in more.
