Thanks Ruth for your reply. Yes, we are talking about the same Calvin George. His father's name may have been Robert. Ross is what we have on some old family papers but we have nothing "official" that says his name was Ross. These same papers claim that his wife,s last name had been McNeal. We didnot know her first name. Your information that Robert and Mary George had a 23 years old son Calvin in 1880 agrees with our information as to Calvin's year of birth and birth location. Are you pretty sure that Robert George was the son of John George? Do you have information of other children of John George and of Robert George?
