There was a Calvin E. GEORGE - Amanda L. FRANKLIN marriage
recorded in Paulding Co. OH, on 8 Jan 1882 [Book 3, pg 370]
according to Early Marriages, Paulding County OH, 1839-1902,
completed 1989 by Ray E. Keck.
Is it possible your Calvin was son of --Robert--(not Ross)
and Mary GEORGE?
Take a look at the 1880 Paulding Co. OH, census enumeration of the Robert and Mary GEORGE family [pg 592B]
that includes a Calvin George, 23y, b. OH [found on Family
Search webpage]. Could this guy be yours?
FYI, this is not my DIRECT line. At this time I am trying
to prove that the Robert GEORGE who married Mary McNeal in
Meigs County OH, is the same
1. Robert GEORGE who was enumerated in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census of Paulding Co. OH; and the same
2. Robert GEORGE who was the son of John GEORGE who died
in 1847 in Meigs Co., OH.
This reason for this "hunt" is that shortly after death of John George his heirs (including my ancestor Martin GEORGE and wife Hannah) "quitclaimed" property in Meigs Co. OH, over to Robert George and wife Mary McNeal [Deed Book 13, pg 551].
