Hi,
My great-great grandfather was John Thomas (J.T.) and he married Mary Jane (Polly) Taylor. John Thomas went by Thomas and I have his CSA record, and I have Mary Jane Taylor George's widow application.
I found John Thomas George on the 1850 census for Texas and he was living in a household. His parents, John and Elizabeth George and family can be found on the 1850 census for Neshoba County, Mississippi.
I had the opportunity to visit Mary Jane Taylor George's grave in Texas. My John Thomas George was born in Pickens, Alabama, and his parents were from South Carolina.
I found my great-grandfather, William Henry George on the 1870 census for Texas, I have visited his grave along with his wife who is buried beside him, her name was Syne Louise (Lou) Dement George.
I have William Henry George's death certificate, and William and Lou Dement George's oldest daughter, Hazel Mahala George was born in Texas, married in Texas, lived in Texas and died in Texas. Hazel Mahala George married Marshall Foster Wood, these are my grandparents. Their oldest daughter, Joylin (Joy Lynn) Wood married a Bass and Joy Lynn Wood Bass is my mother.
If anyone thinks they might be related or would like to check their info with mine, e-mail me at bboop109@msn.com.
