Patricia, you might take a look at Francis Marion George, whose mother was Happy George, and whose brother was William Jackson George. In 1850, these folks are I believe in Heard Co, GA. In 1859, they got land in Randolph County AL on the same day as my Russell George got land in Calhoun Co. Cleburne Co was formed later from Calhoun, Randolph and Tallegega Counties. I would bet that this is you F. M. George and probably a father. A Francis M. George married Sarah C. Butler 28 Oct 1877 in I believe Cleburne Co. A fellow who was the Tax Assessor for Etowah County years back and a serious genealogist, Jerry ? whose name escapes me, was researching this family of Happy George about 10 years ago. The librarian in the genealogy section at Gadsden would know who he is.
