I believe the Elizabeth George in your 1950 abstract is my
great-great grandmother. Elizabeth Bellew George married J. B. George, who died before 1950, and they had a daughter Lucy Jane George born 1839, which would be the right age shown on our abstract. Lucy Jane married Ira Admiral Finnell, my great grandparents, and they had a daughter Julia Ann Agnes Finnell who married Sam Houston Menasco, my grandparents, and they had a daughter Ethel Bessie Menasco, who married Jessie Lee Porter and they had me, Elizabeth Jane Porter. The Thomas O. and Jesse B George were Lucy's brothers.

The Nicy Walker listed I believe is Elizabeth's sister. I do not show Elizabeth having a brother but am wondering if the John Bolew (Bellew?) could be a brother and the Delilah his wife.

Elizabeth Bellew George later married John Riley Menasco, a brother to my Menasco great grand father, Milton L. Menasco (I think that is right) Would that make her my step-great aunt?

Jesse B. George had a son named William T. George who married a Lillie Sherley, and William and Lillie had a daughter Estelle George. After William died before 1918,
Lillie married another relative of mine John Alden Menasco,
but I do not know who his parents were.

Do not have any information on the other son, Thomas O. except that he was released from the army in 1865 two months before Jesse was.

Are you related to the George family and if so how? Do you have any information on John Alden Menasco?

I hope this is not too confusing. I don't work on the Menasco tree very much any more, but that is how I stumbled onto the George information. Thanks, I enjoyed that.

Will appreciate any information you give me.

Thanks,
Liz Kilgore
