K as a middle intial

I am trying to find out what K stands for as a middle intial for 2 Georges I've found. John K George, son of Lewis George & Mary (?) from Laurens SC.early 1800's, and George K George, parents unknown.
Both in Jefferson Co.AL, mid to late 1800's.

I am not familiar with K as a "George" name.
