I have been trying to locate a William Mattison (?) George from MO who would have lived in Ray Co., MO during the time of the 1850 census. I believe he had a brother named James who had either died or was no longer living in the home with his wife and children there also. A third George family (father Warren) were there at the same time. I have often wondered if the census taker meant Madison or Mattison. I haven't been able to find out anything about decedents of these men. My g-grandfather was 2 at the time and living in the home of James and Susannah, but as I said, James was no longer there in 1850. Does this mean anything to you? How close is Camden Co to Ray Co.?
