Helen,
Paul George and I have the same great grandparents. Claibourne M. d. L. George and Nancy Kate Birley George. Claibourne is the son of Alexander Outlaw George and Elizabeth DeFreese Paul. They were married in blount Co., Tennessee on December 24, 1822. Alexander was born in Claiborne Co.,m Tennessee Abt. 1804. His parents were Edward George and Arminda Hammond.
We can trace the George side to Richard George of Montgomeryshire, Wales, b. abt. 1633.
I moved back to Blount Co.in 2000 and have been working on both my families.
