I don't have hard evidence, only email letters between cousins. I was told (but yet to confirm) that Minerva was 1/4 Irish-German and 3/4 Cherokee. This is suppose to have been Recorded in the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Washington D.C. I have not had the time or resources available to send for this information.

I do know that my grandfather was given a deed to Cherokee land in Oklahoma. The deed came from his mother, Sarah Mylinda Elizebeth Raby, the daughter of Minerva Jane George. Sadly, the papers were lost around the time of the Depression. Still, such a deed is proof to Cherokee heritage *somewhere* in the family. I hope someone can either confirm or disprove a Cherokee background in the George family.
