Two Barrett Brothers came to America from England
I. David Barrett, who lived in Pennsylvania
II. Arthur Barrett, b. c1680, in England ans came to America as a young man and who settled at Hopewell, Frederick co., Virginia in 1738. He was evidently one of the original founders (70 families) that received a grant to establish a Quaker settlement there. His wife was Lydia Chambers, declaring their intentions to marry for the first time at Concord MM, in Chester co., Pennsylvania, on 4/11/1705.
Issue of Arthur and Lydia Barrett} Arthur, b. 11/7/1709 - Thomas, b. 1/16/1712 - William, b. 2/15/1`713 - Richard. b. 10/20/1717, apparently d. young - James, b. 1/10/1721 - Joseph, b. 5/10/1723, apparently d. young - Benjamin. b. 5/14/1726 and Joseph, b. 4/1/1730.
Benjamin Barrett, m. Eleanor Rogers (still living in 1794) and lived at Winchester, Virginia. She was the dau. of John Rogers and Ellen Pugh. His will was proved on 8/4/1778. They were the parents of six sons and four daughters. Most stayed in Frederick co., Virginia, but some migrated to Highland co., Ohio, where they raised large families.

Land bought of John Lupton, George Myers land; "To all my friends, the members of Hopewell Monthly Meeting, a burying place, "land bought of Bernard Brelsford near Dillons Run.

Assume she may have d. & next named, "Lydia George Jr." is daughter of Richard George.
