The previous posting has most of the information. The death of Reuben George was reported in the Richmond newspaper. Virginia Argus, 12 Sep 1807, pg 2 col 5. He was reported as the father of Alexander George, and his death was "at his seat a few miles from Richmond." [10 Sep]

Henrico marriage bonds show Reuben George marrying Betsey Sharp, dated 23 Nov 1784.

Those marriage records also show Alexr George marrying Polly Gathright on 22 Oct 1806. That marriage was reported in the Richmond Enquirer of Tues, 28 Oct 1806, pg 3, col 4. "On Thurs. last, by the Rev. John Linsay, Mr. Alexander George to Miss Polley Garthright, both of Henrico county."

A week earlier (Sat, 5 Sep 1807) the Virginia Argus reported the death of "Mr. Alexander George, age 22, on Sunday last, at his father's seat a few miles from Richmond." pg 2, col 5. [30 Aug]Thus Reuben outlived his son by 11 days.

There is an LDS Ancestral File on Reuben, placing his birth on 17 Mar 1766. It shows him married to Elizabeth Sharp, but no marriage date. It lists three children -- Polley, Alexander and Reuben. Because of the notorious inaccuracy of these submissions (parents dead before their children born, etc), I am seeking citations to original sources such as family Bibles, wills, property records, etc., with specific notation as to the location of each.

Further clues may be as follows:

Mrs. Mary George m. John P. Burton, MB 11 Dec 1816. This is a widow (from the Mrs.), it is after Alexander's death, and Polly is a nickname for Mary.

As for Elizabeth/Betsey Sharp, she was the daughter of Richard and Mary Hales Sharp. Both of the 1807 death notices do not mention her as the surviving widow, suggesting that she had died before.

That is all I have. Would appreciate info filling the gaps.
