George's from Ireland/N.C./Al./Ar.
Another greenhorn trying to find roots!
A.B.(presumably Abraham) George came from Ireland to N.C. in 1786,we heard he had a plantation there, then later sold it and moved to Pleasant Site ,Al.(Someone else called him Brinkly) so possibly Abraham Brinkly???
His wife's name was not known but children were Abraham B. b.1817,d.1901;Jesse,Bruce, Brinkley, and Zeke of whom there is no further record, Wylie and John.
There are many names but one son of Wylie was James (Jim) Daniel who had a son named Marion Wylie who had a son named Charles Edward who was my Dad.
There are many names though I don't have much information on them.
I would like to know if anyone has anything on A.B. George before he came to the U.S.
Also there is a grave marker in Hickman Ky. that has no dates but is marked A.J.George and under it has C.S.A. Beside it is a memorial about soldiers who died of yellow fever in 1878. I thought this might be of interest to someone.
You can E mail me at [email protected] if you have any info.
Annette
