I come from Edna George and James Pemberton DeJarnette. I've not been able to prove beyond a doubt that Edna is the daughter of JOhn George and Mary Jordan. She doesn't appeear in John's will, which is a problem. Then again, she had predeceased her father. While he named some grandchildren, he didn't name Edna's, but perhaps he thought they were well enough taken care of by the Dejarnette's that his estate was needed elsewhere. The DeJarnette and Allied Familes by Frost and Frost states that Edna is a daughter of John George and Mary Jordan. It's been fairly reliable, but there is always room for error. I know that Edna's first son was named George, as I descend from George DeJarnette, b. 19 Feb 1763 per his tombstone in northeast Pittsylvania Co VA
