Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Ansel George was the son of John & Elizabeth (Jennings) George who married in Surry Co., NC on 1 February 1807. Elizabeth was the daughter of James & Hannah (Martin) Jennings who moved to Buncombe Co., NC in 1808. John & Elizabeth must have moved there with her parents and Ansel was born there in 1809. Ansel & Sarah moved to Laurel Co., KY around 1855 (the Raccoon District). Another researcher had Sarah listed as a Carter. I have never found a marriage record. The Carter family was prominent in Madison Co., NC (Madison was carved out of Yancey, which had been carved out of Buncombe Co.). I have never found any grave sites for Ansel & Sarah either.
