I found a copy of the 1850 Madison County Indiana census and there is the following entry on page 84 in Green Township. He is not listed on the 1850 Indiana census index.

Jacob George 46, farmer Va
Mary A. 39? Va
James D. George 20 m Va
Richard George 18 m Oh
E. E. 14 m can't read
Tabitha 11 f can't read
William H. 9 m can't read
Mary Ann (7 or 9)f In
Harriet 4 f In
John L. 2 m In.

This matches Joab's family but Joab is not listed. Could Jacob be a brother or misspelled name? There are several other Georges in this area on pages 82, 84, 117, 118 to name a few. The Madison Conty courthouse burned about 1880, they have deeds and court records left, no marriages or deaths.
