I recently learned that Alexander George was in the Black Hawk War. He served in the 27th Independant Regiment of Illinois Militia under Captain Ben J Aldenrath. A proclamation dated May 15, 1832 called the company into service of the US government. Alexander George was enrolled May 18, 1832, and was a resident of Jo Daviess County, Illinois at the time. The company was mustered in September 6, 1832. I've also learned a little more, and will post more later. He lived in Illinois and Iowa briefly before returning to Kentucky.
