My great-grandfatherx4 was Solomon George,1757-1830.He was a brother of Winnifred George-Gilliam-Human.He moved from Botetourt Co.,Va to Knoxville,Tn,ca.1792.Solomons son,my great-grandfatherx3 Wiley B.B. George,1812-1880 was a first cousin of James G. Human, founder of Humansville,Mo. W.B.B.Georgesettled in Humansville in 1838My branch of George have not had a tradition of Indian ancestry handed down.James Murphy, a grandson of Winnifred George-Gilliam-Human in his 1891 interview stated that winnifred was a brother of Solomon George of Knoxville, that his branch of Georges originated in Lancaster Co.,Va. in the mid-1600`s & that his Georges were distantly related to the George`s of Caroline Co.,Va.According to a lady who has conducted extensive research on the George`s of Lancaster Co.,Va.most if not all of the Georges in that county are descended from or related to Nicholas George,ca.1600-1661.Nicholas George immigrated from Writtle,Essex Co.,England to Virginiaby 1635. He is reported to be a brother to John George whose descendants settled in Caroline Co.,Va.Since many of the descendants of Winnifred GEORGE-Gilliam-Human did not know that her maiden name was GEORGE I hope this will help with her family background. The more of her descendants who are researching her family the better.Thats how we learn new information.Greg George
