My great-great grandfather Rev. James GEORGE was married to Janet KERR. He emigrated to Canada from Scotland and was a minister of the Church of Scotland (Presbyterian) and a professor at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario. His father was also named James and was married to Elizabeth KING, the daughter of Daniel KING of the parish of Comrie in Perthshire Scotland. His brother John emigrated to New York in 1827, and the rest of the family except James and his sister Margaret sailed from Greenock to New York in 1828. James George the father, died in 1852 in Delaware County, New York and his wife Elizabeth died there in 1858. If any of this sounds familiar to you, please contact me.
